Here’s what nobody says out loud: The worst part of seeing the 13th bikini pic your partner liked on Instagram is not knowing exactly when they liked it. Or when you notice the list of new accounts they’ve followed that seem a bit sus to you. It’s becoming harder and harder to figure out what the people in your life are up to online. Their profile looks exactly like it did an hour ago. So is nothing new, or did something slip past you? 👀
An Instagram activity tracker should answer that question for you, and that’s the real test in any Dolphin Radar vs DataJam vs Social Snitch matchup. Pick the right one, and you open your dashboard, get your answer, and get on with your day. Pick the wrong one, and you’ve added one more thing to keep checking. Or a surprise charge you didn’t see coming.
So we put three popular Instagram trackers through five rounds: Dolphin Radar, DataJam, and Social Snitch.
Full disclosure: Social Snitch is our product. To keep things fair, we used each company’s own website and pricing page. Where a price wasn’t published, we used public reviews on Trustpilot. Everything here is current as of October 2026, and we call every round straight, including the ones we lose.
The quick verdict
Short on time? Social Snitch wins 3 of 5 rounds: daily updates plus refresh on demand, everything on one screen, and history that’s saved for when you come back. Dolphin Radar is the cheapest pick and has the most extras. DataJam tracks the most accounts (three), but you only see its prices after you sign up for its trial.
Meet the contenders
Dolphin Radar is an Instagram follow tracker that logs follows, unfollows, and likes on public accounts, with weekly reports and email alerts. It also offers anonymous story viewing, plus story downloads, CSV exports, and AI insight modules on its quarterly and annual plans.
DataJam works as an Instagram follow tracker and likes viewer, logging follows, unfollows, and likes, and adds a couple of extras: anonymous viewing of comments on posts, and “activity insights” that show which accounts someone interacts with most. It also has a story viewer with downloads, and reports live in its dashboard.
Social Snitch is an Instagram follow tracker and following viewer for public accounts. It checks each account once a day, plus whenever you hit Sync, and rounds up new follows in a weekly view on your dashboard. On Premium, a weekly likes report makes it an Instagram likes viewer too.
Dolphin Radar and Social Snitch work with public Instagram activity only. DataJam goes further: its site claims it can show data “even for private accounts.” Social Snitch only ever shows what’s already public. No private accounts, no DMs, no passwords. And none of the three needs your Instagram login.

Round 1: Who shows you what’s new first? ⏱️
This round matters most, because timing is the whole point. If your tool is slow, you’re never sure you’re up to date. So you go back and check anyway.
Dolphin Radar is built around weekly reports, backed by email alerts. Solid, but a weekly rhythm means the full picture can trail behind by days.
DataJam puts reports in its dashboard. Its site doesn’t say how often new activity comes through.
Social Snitch checks each account once a day, and you can hit Sync for a fresh check anytime. New follows land on your dashboard, and a weekly view rounds them up, so you’re never more than a day behind.
Winner: Social Snitch. It’s the only one of the three that checks every day and lets you refresh on demand.

Round 2: How easy is it to get your answer?
A tracker should feel like relief, not homework. The fewer taps between you and your answer, the better.
Dolphin Radar has a big toolbox, but its tools are spread across different sections, and not all of them sit on the dashboard. It’s easy to end up second-guessing whether you’re even in the right place.
DataJam keeps its reports in the dashboard. We couldn’t judge much more, because you have to sign up for the trial before you see the inside.
Social Snitch puts everything on one dashboard. Add an account, and tracking kicks off immediately. Your first new follows show up after the next daily check. Your accounts stay saved, so you never search for them again.
Winner: Social Snitch. One screen, no hunting, no repeat searches.

Round 3: What happens to your history?
Nothing feels worse than losing something you already had. So we looked at what happens to your data over time and after you leave.
Dolphin Radar lets you download activity reports as CSV files on its quarterly and annual plans, so you can keep your own copy. When you cancel, the service stops.
DataJam shows comment and interaction history while you’re subscribed. Its site doesn’t say what happens to your data if you cancel.
Social Snitch saves your tracked accounts and their history. Cancel your subscription, and it’s all there when you come back. You can’t view it while your plan is canceled, and nothing is tracked in between.
Winner: Social Snitch. Come back, and you pick up right where you left off, no export needed. Dolphin Radar earns an honorable mention: its CSV downloads give you a copy you can open anytime.
Round 4: How many accounts can you track?
Dolphin Radar covers 1 account per subscription. A second account means a second subscription.
DataJam covers 3 target accounts on its 7-day and 1-month plans.
Social Snitch covers up to 2 accounts on both of its plans.
Winner: DataJam. Three beats two, fair and square. If you need to track more than two accounts, it’s worth a look. If two covers you, Social Snitch handles them on a single plan.
Round 5: Do you know what you’ll pay? 💸
Nobody likes a pricing surprise. Price clarity counts as much as the price itself.
Dolphin Radar publishes its prices, and they’re the lowest here.

| Plan | Price | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $4.49/month | 1 account, weekly and monthly reports, email alerts, recent follows/followers |
| Quarterly | $10.99/quarter ($3.66/month) | Adds 4 AI insight modules, historical posts, top commenters, CSV downloads, story downloads, a map of visited areas, and a tag cloud |
| Annual | $32.99/year ($2.75/month) | Adds 9 AI insight modules and annual reports |
DataJam doesn’t list prices on its site. You only see them after you sign up for its trial. Here’s what we could confirm:
The trial covers 3 accounts for 24 hours and is labeled “free.” One Trustpilot reviewer says it actually cost $1, and another says she was charged $15 on the “free” trial.
A third reviewer got a renewal notice for $15 for 7 days once the trial ended.
Reviewers say canceling before the trial ends was hard. DataJam replied that its email links to your account, where you can cancel.
The paid plans come with a 14-day money-back guarantee, and DataJam promises a reminder email before you’re charged.
DataJam’s Trustpilot page holds 8 reviews and a 3.4 rating, all from 2022 and 2023, so take those reports as a snapshot.

Social Snitch publishes its prices too. There are two plans, both paid, and both cover two accounts:
| Plan | Weekly price | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $4.97/week | 2 accounts, new follows, daily updates plus Sync, weekly view, anonymous story viewer |
| Premium | $7.97/week | Everything in Starter, plus the weekly likes report |
Winner: Dolphin Radar on the lowest price. Social Snitch and Dolphin Radar both show you every price upfront. DataJam makes you sign up to find out. Covering two accounts? Two Dolphin Radar annual plans, paid upfront, work out to about $5.50 a month.
