Your best friend tells you about something they saw on your partner’s Instagram, and you’re only hearing about it now. Cue that sinking “how did everyone know before me?” feeling. Nobody enjoys being the last to know. 😬
That’s what an Instagram activity tracker is for: keeping you in the know on who they’re following, when they followed them, and what they’re liking, minus the constant refreshing. It’s also the real test in any Dolphin Radar vs InstaTrack vs Social Snitch matchup. A good Instagram following viewer shows you exactly what someone is getting up to online, all in one place, in order. Some trackers leave you a step behind. Others make you pay before you even know what you’re getting.
So before you hand over your card, ask five simple questions. We asked them of three trackers: Dolphin Radar, InstaTrack, and Social Snitch.
Why you can trust this: we built Social Snitch, and we know that makes us biased. So every claim below comes from each tool’s own website or App Store listing, checked in October 2026. When another tool comes out ahead, we tell you.
The quick verdict
Short on time? InstaTrack is the fastest, with real-time notifications for follows and unfollows, but it’s Apple-only and its prices only show up in the App Store. Dolphin Radar is the cheapest for one account and covers likes, with weekly reports. Social Snitch covers two accounts with daily updates plus refresh on demand, likes on Premium, no Instagram login, and published prices from $4.97 a week.
The lineup
Dolphin Radar is an Instagram follow tracker that logs follows, unfollows, and likes on one public account per subscription, with weekly reports.
InstaTrack is an iPhone app and Instagram follow tracker that logs follows and unfollows on public accounts, with timestamped notifications.
Social Snitch is an Instagram follow tracker and following viewer for public accounts, with daily updates plus refresh on demand, a weekly view of new follows, and likes on Premium.
Question 1: Will I hear about it right away? 🔔
If a tracker is slow, you’re right back to being the last to know.
Dolphin Radar: not quite. Its plans are built on weekly reports, backed by activity report email alerts, so news can be days old by the time you see it.
InstaTrack: yes. Its App Store listing promises real-time notifications for follows and unfollows.
Social Snitch: not instantly, but never far behind. It checks each account once a day, and you can hit Sync for a fresh check anytime. Tracking starts the second you add an account; your first new follows show up after the next daily check.
Our take: InstaTrack wins this one with real-time notifications. Social Snitch comes second with daily updates plus refresh on demand, and Dolphin Radar is built for a slower pace.

Question 2: Do I get the full story, or just a list?
A list of names tells you what happened. Context tells you what it means.
Dolphin Radar covers follows, unfollows, and likes. On its quarterly and annual plans, it adds CSV downloads and AI insight modules (4 and 9 of them, respectively).
InstaTrack shows follows and unfollows in an activity timeline, complete with timestamps and profile pictures. That’s a genuinely nice touch. Its listing doesn’t mention tracking likes.
Social Snitch covers new follows, plus likes on Premium. Every week, new follows are rounded up in a weekly view on your dashboard, and on Premium, the weekly likes report shows every post they liked.
Our take: Dolphin Radar gives the fullest picture, with follows, unfollows, likes, and AI extras on its longer plans. InstaTrack wins on timestamps. Social Snitch keeps it simple: new follows in a weekly view, plus likes on Premium.
Question 3: Do I know the price before I commit? 💳
Signing up blind is its own kind of stress. You deserve to see the price tag first.
Social Snitch lists its prices on its website. Two plans, both paid, both covering two accounts:
| Plan | Weekly price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $4.97/week | 2 accounts, new follows, daily updates plus Sync, weekly view, anonymous story viewer |
| Premium | $7.97/week | Everything in Starter, plus the weekly likes report |
Dolphin Radar lists its prices too: $4.49 a month, $10.99 a quarter, or $32.99 a year, each for 1 account. It’s the cheapest starting price here. Covering two accounts? Two annual plans, paid upfront, come to about $5.50 a month.
InstaTrack doesn’t show any pricing on its website. You need a subscription to use the app, so you have to download it before you can see what it costs. Its App Store listing does show the in-app purchases: $8.99 weekly (or a $4.49 weekly special offer), $12.99 monthly, and $39.99 yearly (or a $19.99 yearly special offer). What it doesn’t spell out is what each plan includes or how many accounts you get.
Our take: Dolphin Radar has the lowest price. Social Snitch wins on clarity: you see exactly what each plan includes, and both plans cover two accounts.

Question 4: What do I need to get started?
The fewer hoops, the faster you’re in the know.
Dolphin Radar: one account per subscription, so a second account means a second plan. Its tools are also split across different sections, and not every tool shows up on the dashboard, so finding what you need can take a while.
InstaTrack: it’s an Apple-only app (iPhone, iPod touch, Apple silicon Macs, and Vision Pro). Its App Store description says no Instagram login is needed, though its version notes mention connecting Instagram. Both store buttons on its website are dead, and the app doesn’t turn up in a Play Store search.
Social Snitch: no Instagram login needed and nothing to install. Add an account to your dashboard, and tracking begins right then. Your accounts stay saved, so you never search for them twice.
Our take: Social Snitch is the easiest way in. It works in any browser, with no hunting through menus and two accounts from day one.
Question 5: What happens to my history if I take a break?
Pausing a subscription shouldn’t mean starting over from zero.
Dolphin Radar: on quarterly and annual plans, you can download activity reports as CSV files and keep your own copy. When you cancel, the service stops.
InstaTrack: the app keeps an activity timeline, but its listing doesn’t say what happens to it if you cancel.
Social Snitch: cancel, and your accounts and history are saved, so it’s all there when you come back. You can’t view them while your plan is canceled, and nothing is tracked in between.
Our take: Social Snitch is the only one that saves your accounts and history for when you come back, no exporting required. Dolphin Radar’s CSV downloads are the way to keep a copy you can open anytime.
