Dolphin Radar vs IGExport vs Social Snitch: Which Instagram Tracker Actually Ends the “What Did I Miss?” Loop?
Dolphin Radar vs IGExport vs Social Snitch: we compare updates, likes, accounts, history, and price to help you pick an Instagram follow tracker.
Check any public Instagram account
See who they recently followed, in seconds. No login, no app.
On this page
You know the feeling. Your partner keeps opening up Instagram and then closing the app. But thirty seconds later their phone is back in their hands, and they’re checking something. One part of you is sure nothing is going on, but another is thinking, “What’s got them so interested? What are they liking? Who are they following?”
Maybe nothing’s happening. But something might be, and you’d have no way of knowing.
That low-key “are they cheating” itch is exactly why Instagram activity trackers exist. They let you see who someone followed and when and which posts they liked. It’s also what we put to the test in this Dolphin Radar vs IGExport vs Social Snitch comparison. Trackers keep up with public accounts so you can stop checking over and over. But they don’t all scratch the itch the same way. Some hand the work right back to you. Some make you wait. Some leave you wondering if what you’re looking at is already old news.
Quick heads-up before we dive in: we’re Social Snitch, so yes, we have a horse in this race. That’s exactly why we stuck to the facts. Everything below comes from each tool’s own website, pricing pages, or App Store listing, checked in October 2026. We’ll cover what each one does well, where each one falls short (ours included), and who each one is actually right for.
The quick verdict
- Dolphin Radar is for you if you’re keeping up with one account, weekly updates are enough, and you want lots of extra data for a low price.
- IGExport is for you if free matters most and you don’t mind doing the digging yourself, or if you’re happy to pay for its Pro app to get alerts.
- Social Snitch is for you if you want daily updates plus refresh on demand, two accounts in one place, and never to re-run a search again.
How we compared them
We asked the same five questions of every tool:
- What does it track? Follows, unfollows, likes, stories.
- How do you find out something changed? This is the big one. It’s the difference between feeling caught up and feeling one step behind.
- How many accounts can you keep up with? And what it costs to add another.
- How easy is it to use? Can you open it and get your answer, or do you have to hunt?
- What does it cost? And what you actually get for that price.
Dolphin Radar and Social Snitch work with public Instagram activity only, and neither needs your Instagram login. IGExport’s free web tools work the same way, but its app can also show private accounts you already follow if you log in with your Instagram account. Social Snitch never touches private accounts, DMs, or passwords. Just what’s already out there, organized so it’s easier to follow.
Dolphin Radar
Dolphin Radar is an Instagram follow tracker that logs follows, unfollows, and likes on public Instagram accounts. It also lets you view stories anonymously, with downloads on the quarterly and annual plans.
What it does well
- Low entry price. Plans start at $4.49 a month, and go lower per month if you commit for longer.
- Email alerts on every plan. Activity report alerts land in your inbox. Even the monthly plan includes monthly reports.
- Lots of extras for data lovers. Higher tier plans add CSV downloads and AI insight modules: 4 on the quarterly plan, 9 on the annual plan. The quarterly plan also adds story downloads, a map of visited areas, and a tag cloud.
Where it falls short
- One account per subscription. Want to keep up with two accounts? That’s two subscriptions. (Two annual plans, paid upfront, come to about $5.50 a month.)
- Built around weekly reports. Every plan’s core report comes weekly, so the full picture can take days to land.
- So many tools, so many places. Features are spread across different sections, and not all of them live on the dashboard. It’s easy to be unsure which tool you actually need, which is strange for a product meant to help you stop wondering.
- Stops when you cancel. Once your subscription ends, so does the tracking.
Pricing
| Plan | Price | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | $4.49/month | 1 account, weekly and monthly reports, email alerts, recent follows/followers |
| Quarterly | $10.99/quarter ($3.66/month) | Everything in Monthly, plus 4 AI insight modules, historical posts, top commenters, CSV downloads, quarterly reports, story downloads, stories beyond 24 hours, a map of visited areas, and a tag cloud |
| Annual | $32.99/year ($2.75/month) | Everything in Quarterly, plus 9 AI insight modules, annual reports, account discovery across 5 platforms, and a fuller tag cloud |
Best for: keeping up with a single account when a weekly check-in feels like enough.

IGExport
IGExport is a free Instagram followers export tool. Its web tool turns up to 100 of a public account’s followers into a CSV, and a free preview shows a few of an account’s recent follows. The full list of recent follows lives in its app (iPhone and Android) and Chrome extension, where a paid Pro upgrade adds alerts. IGExport also has a free anonymous story viewer with downloads, and an “Is he single?” scan called Signal Scan that reads an account’s public posts and comments.
What it does well
- Free to start. You can use the web tools without paying.
- Story downloads. View stories anonymously and save them.
- Great if you love a spreadsheet. The CSV export gives you raw data to sort however you like.
- Alerts on the app. IGExport’s Pro app sends an alert when it spots a new follow.
Where it falls short
- The analysis is on you. On the web, you download the CSV and work through it yourself.
- No alerts on the free tools. The website doesn’t notify you about new activity, so you have to go and look. Alerts come with the Pro app.
- You start from scratch every time. On the web, accounts aren’t tracked automatically, so you search the same account again each time you want an update. The “did I miss something?” loop is still there. It just moved to a different tab.
- The full recent-follows list needs an install. The website only previews a few. For the full list, you’ll need the app or the Chrome extension.
- “Free” has a ceiling. The full following and followers list is a paid Pro upgrade inside the app.
- Capped and partial for free. The free export stops at 100 followers, and IGExport doesn’t track which posts someone likes.
- A login for private accounts. The app can show private accounts you already follow if you log in with your Instagram account. If you’d rather keep your login to yourself, stick to public accounts.
- Another app on your phone. If you’d rather not add another app and more notifications, this might not be your vibe.
Pricing: free to use on the web. The app is free to download; the full lists, unlimited searches, and alerts come with a paid Pro upgrade. IGExport doesn’t publish what Pro costs.
Best for: a one-off look at an account when your budget is zero, and you’re happy doing the legwork.

Social Snitch
Social Snitch is an Instagram follow tracker and following viewer for public accounts. It checks each account once a day, plus whenever you hit Sync, and a weekly view on your dashboard rounds up new follows. On Premium, a weekly likes report makes it an Instagram likes viewer too.
What it does well
- Daily updates, plus refresh on demand. Social Snitch checks each account once a day, and you can hit Sync anytime for a fresh check. No waiting a week for the next report.
- Tracking starts the second you add an account. Add it, and you’re in. Your first new follows show up after the next daily check.
- Set it once, and you’re done. Your accounts stay saved on your dashboard. No re-searching, ever.
- Two accounts on every plan. Keep up with two public accounts under one subscription.
- Your history sticks around. Cancel your subscription, and your accounts and history are saved, so it’s all there when you come back. You can’t view them while your plan is canceled, and nothing is tracked in between.
- A weekly roundup. Every week, new follows are gathered into one view on your dashboard, so you can look back without scrolling through everything.
- One simple dashboard. Everything in one place, so you’re never hunting for the right tool.
Where it might not be the right fit
- It’s not the cheapest. Dolphin Radar’s entry price is lower, and IGExport starts free. Social Snitch has two plans, and both are paid.
- Two accounts is the max. If you want to keep up with more than two, that’s a real limit.
- Not real-time. Updates come once a day, plus whenever you hit Sync.
- New follows only. Social Snitch doesn’t show unfollows.
- Some features are Premium-only. The weekly likes report (every post they liked) comes with Premium, not Starter.
Pricing
| Plan | Weekly price | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $4.97/week | 2 accounts, new follows, daily updates plus Sync, weekly view, anonymous story viewer |
| Premium | $7.97/week | Everything in Starter, plus the weekly likes report |
Both plans also come quarterly: $39.97 for Starter and $59.97 for Premium.

Best for: anyone who wants to stay in the loop on up to two accounts, updated daily, without lifting a finger after setup.

So, which one should you pick?
“I just want a quick peek, and I’m not paying.” Go with IGExport. Just know you’ll be doing the sorting yourself; the free export stops at 100 followers, and you’ll need to search again every time you want an update.
“I’m keeping up with one account, and once a week is fine.” Dolphin Radar gives you a lot of extras for a low price. Budget a little time to learn where everything lives.
“I want to know within a day, without installing anything.” That’s Social Snitch. Daily updates plus refresh on demand mean you’re never a week behind.
“There are two accounts I keep coming back to.” Social Snitch covers both on one plan. With Dolphin Radar, you’d need two subscriptions (about $5.50 a month on two annual plans paid upfront).
“I’m tired of checking.” Also Social Snitch. Add an account once, and it keeps up for you. No re-searching, no hunting through menus, no wondering if you’re behind.
Frequently asked questions
Dolphin Radar vs IGExport: which is better?
It depends on how hands-on you want to be. IGExport’s free web tool is great for a one-off look (up to 100 followers in a CSV), and its Pro app adds alerts. Dolphin Radar tracks one account automatically, with likes and weekly reports, from $4.49 a month.
Is IGExport really free?
The web tools are free, but the follower export stops at 100 followers and IGExport doesn’t track likes. The website only previews a few recent follows; the full list needs the app or Chrome extension, and the full lists, unlimited searches, and alerts come with a paid Pro upgrade.
Can these trackers see private accounts?
Dolphin Radar and Social Snitch work with public Instagram activity only. IGExport’s app can show private accounts you already follow if you log in with your Instagram account. Social Snitch never asks for your login and never shows private accounts, DMs, or anything that isn’t already public.
How often does Social Snitch update?
Once a day for each account, plus whenever you hit Sync. Dolphin Radar sends weekly reports with email alerts. IGExport’s Pro app sends alerts, while its free web tool only shows what’s there when you search.
What’s the cheapest way to keep up with two accounts?
Two Dolphin Radar annual plans, paid upfront, come to about $5.50 a month if weekly updates are enough. For daily updates on both accounts under one plan, Social Snitch Starter is $4.97 a week, or $39.97 a quarter (about $13.30 a month).
The bottom line
The whole reason to use a tracker is to stop the checking loop. IGExport’s free tool moves the loop somewhere else. Dolphin Radar shortens it to once a week. Social Snitch keeps it to a day: daily updates plus refresh on demand, accounts that stay saved, and history that’s waiting if you cancel and come back.
If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, give it a try. Add an account, and tracking starts right away. Your first new follows show up after the next daily check. ✨
